AS RESIDENT DOCTORS EMBARK ON A 5-DAY WARNING STRIKE TODAY

Today, 11th May, 2016, Resident doctors all over Nigeria will embark on a 5-day warning strike as a way of expressing their dissatisfaction over the manner federal government is treating the issues they tabled before it.
The issues in question include unpaid salaries and disengagement of some resident doctors from the residency program.
It is pertinent that AMLSN and NUAHP should use these 5 days of warning strike of resident doctors

MASSIVE LAST RESPECT FOR PROFESSOR GILBERT NWOBU BY AMLSN

The date was Friday, 22nd January, 2016. The location was Uruana village, Nibo, Anambra State. And Medical Laboratory Scientists from all walks of life trooped out en masse to pay their last respect to a true hero of the Medical Laboratory Science profession, Prof. Sir Gilbert Nwobu (KSC) who was laid to rest in his country home in Uruana village, Nibo on that day. He was aged 70.

ON THE PLOT TO REVERSE THE ALREADY GIVEN EEP FOR POST NYSC MEDICAL LAB. SCIENTISTS


After many years of professional deprivation and injustice, Medical Lab. Scientists(MLS) all over Nigeria heaved a big sigh of relief when soon after the inception of President Buhari’s administration, the Federal Government (FG), through the Head of Civil Service of the Federation(HOCSF) released the much awaited circular approving the implementation of Enhanced Entry Point(EEP) for all MLS. By that circular, the FG brought all Medical Lab Scientists in Nigeria out of more than five decades of professional emasculation, subjugation and unfair treatment compared to their sister health professionals.

AMLSN 51ST AGM CUM ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOP WELL ATTENDED

The 2015 AMLSN AGM cum Scientific Conference and Workshop which held between 12th and 17th October, 2015 in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State has gone down history as one of the most attended AMLSN AGMs in recent times.
The AGM/Scientific Conference which held at The Artrium venue, Plot 28 Stadium Road Port Harcourt was attended by over 1300 Medical Laboratory Scientists from all over Nigeria and beyond; that is in addition to scores of friends and lovers of the profession who identified with us at the event.

Post-NYSC Medical Laboratory Scientists Patiently Await EEP Implementation


Post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists all over Nigeria are patiently awaiting the implementation of their Enhanced Entry Point (EEP) Circular which has since been released by the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation on 11th June, 2015.

The EEP circular was finally released by the said office about a year after the circular for proper placement of Intern Medical Lab. Scientists was released on 27th July, 2014. The essence of the EEP for post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists is to maintain the relative seniority between them and the interns who have rightly been placed on CONHESS 8: 2 to bring them at par with their sister health professionals running the same 5-year program in the university.
