AS RESIDENT DOCTORS EMBARK ON A 5-DAY WARNING STRIKE TODAY

Today, 11th May, 2016, Resident doctors all over Nigeria will embark on a 5-day warning strike as a way of expressing their dissatisfaction over the manner federal government is treating the issues they tabled before it.
The issues in question include unpaid salaries and disengagement of some resident doctors from the residency program.
It is pertinent that AMLSN and NUAHP should use these 5 days of warning strike of resident doctors
during which most(if not all) activities in tertiary health institutions will be grounded to write a reminder letter to the head of civil service of the federation intimating him of the implications of further delay in implementing the June 11, 2015 Enhanced Entry Point(EEP) circular for Medical Laboratory scientists. Or better still, a working visit should be paid him by our delegation to discuss this issue.
That Medical Laboratory Scientists in the Nigerian health sector are peaceful and law-abiding does not imply that we are incapable of going on strike to drive home our demands.
