Post-NYSC Medical Laboratory Scientists Patiently Await EEP Implementation

Post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists all over Nigeria are patiently awaiting the implementation of their Enhanced Entry Point (EEP) Circular which has since been released by the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation on 11th June, 2015.

The EEP circular was finally released by the said office about a year after the circular for proper placement of Intern Medical Lab. Scientists was released on 27th July, 2014. The essence of the EEP for post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists is to maintain the relative seniority between them and the interns who have rightly been placed on CONHESS 8: 2 to bring them at par with their sister health professionals running the same 5-year program in the university.
The post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists are earnestly hoping that the management of government health establishments will implement their EEP circular with the same sense of urgency they did that of the interns. While there seem to have been a delay in the implementation of the EEP circular which has left the concerned officers anxious, management of several government established health institutions (especially at the tertiary level)  have explained to the concerned officers that they are assiduously working on the implementation- some of them still at the paper works stage.

The post-NYSC Medical Lab. Scientists are confident that in the spirit of zero tolerance for corruption championed by the present President Muhammad Buhari led administration, the relevant authorities will implement the EEP circular without dragging of feet.

It is expected that the implementation will come with the arrears as the EEP circular was meant to take effect from the month of its release- June, 2015. The implementation also cuts across all the cadres of post-NYSC Med. Lab. Scientists without any exception.

Kudos to all post-NYSC MLS for their patience and the peace-loving and mature  manner with which they have approached this issue which has now dragged for four months without threatening industrial action.
