The date was
Friday, 22nd January, 2016. The location was Uruana village, Nibo,
Anambra State. And Medical Laboratory Scientists from all walks of life trooped
out en masse to pay their last respect to a true hero of the Medical Laboratory
Science profession, Prof. Sir Gilbert Nwobu (KSC) who was laid to rest in his
country home in Uruana village, Nibo on that day. He was aged 70.
The occasion witnessed in attendance, the who is who in the Medical Lab. Science Profession including, the former V.C. of Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Prof. Dennis Agbonlahor (who happens to be his classmate in Vom, Plateau state), the erstwhile national president of AMLSN, Dr. G.C. Okala, Prof. Sam D. Abbey, Prof. Enweani, Dr. Mgbakogu, to mention but a few.
The incumbent national president of AMLSN, Alh. Toyosi Y. Raheem, the first national vice president, Mr. Uche Odionyemma and all other national executive officers were all on ground to pay the last respect to Prof. Nwobu who has sacrificed so much in defense of our profession.
The occasion offered us a little opportunity to rub minds and interact with one another. See below, some pictures from the event
