AMLSN AWKA CPD WORKSHOP: A HUGE SUCCESS!

The 22^nd May CPD workshop organized by AMLSN, Awka Chapter in partnership with MLSCN was a huge success.

The workshop which had Dr. N.K. Nnamah as the keynote speaker was well attended by over 100 Biomedical Scientists from all over Nigeria.

The theme of the workshop was: THE NEW MLSCN CHECKLIST: A PANACEA FOR LAB. ACCREDITATION

Of the four lectures presented at the workshop, one of two of the lectures presented by Lady Christy N. Igwe who is Head of MLSCN South-East Zonal Office at Awka contains information that Biomedical Scientists all over Nigeria, especially those in private practice would be itching to know. AMLSN, ANAMBRA STATE ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

On Saturday, 25^th April, 2015, at Cana House, Awka, AMLSN, ANAMBRA STATE branch elected new executive officers who will pilot the affairs of the professional body in the next three years.

Though marked by low voters turn out as only very few members of the association were financially up to date and hence eligible to vote or be voted for in the election, the election was a success.

After conducting a free, fair and credible election with his team, the Electoral Committee Chairman and Biomedical Scientist, Mr. Tony Ezechukwu  announced the following as the newly elected officers of the association:

AMLSN, ANAMBRA BRANCH TO ELECT NEW STATE EXECUTIVE OFFICERS

AMLSN, Anambra branch will next Saturday, 25^th April, 2015 elect new executive officers who will steer the ship of the Anambra Branch of the Association in the next three years.

The electoral committee set up by the branch to oversee the election has insisted that only financially up to date members of the professional group are qualified to vote or be voted for in the fast approaching election.

AMLSN, NAUTH wishes  AMLSN Anambra State a successful election.

Interns’ Proper Entry Point Implemented

The proper entry point for intern Medical Laboratory Scientists has been implemented in NAUTH.

This is a further testament to the fact that B.MLS is not inferior or disadvantaged in any way compared to any other 5-year health professional course studied in Nigeria or in any other country of the world.

We say, WELL DONE! To NAUTH management headed by the CMD, Prof. A.O. Igwegbe.

AMLSN ANAMBRA BRANCH HOLDS A SUCCESSFUL FUND RAISING/AWARD LUNCHEON

The Anambra branch of AMLSN, on Saturday, 21^st March, 2015 held a very successful Fund Raising/ Award Luncheon at Hall of Honour, Suncity Hotels, Awka.

The event was held to reward excellence as found in some distinguished members and friends/lovers of the association as well as to raise fund for the building of a secretariat for the Anambra State Branch of AMLSN, in Awka, the state capital.

Speaking in his welcome address at the colourful event, the State Chairman of AMLSN, Anambra Branch, Comr. Obi A.A. stated that the event was the first of its kind in the annals of the association. He stated that the fund raising effort had become necessary as AMLSN Anambra branch currently has no office to call its own. He stated that the secretariat when built shall provide offices for the State Executive Officers(SEOs), serve as meeting venue for SEOs, Committee Meetings and State Assembly. There will also be a hall which can also be rented out to members of the public to help generate fund for the association.

AMLSN, ANAMBRA STATE LUNCHEON HOLDS TOMORROW

The long awaited AMLSN, Anambra State Fundraising/Award Luncheon holds tomorrow, Saturday, 21st March, 2015 at Suncity Hotel(off Regina Cherry Bus Stop),Awka, Anambra State by 11:00am.

This is the first ever such effort made by an incumbent Chairman of AMLSN, Anambra Branch to raise funds for the acquisition of land and building of a befitting Secretariat for AMLSN, Anambra State. Big kudos then to the incumbent chairman, AMLSN, Anambra State in the person of the unintimidatable Comrade, Obi A.A.
